In Croatia it is
traditional to make cod pâté for Christmas Eve dinner. It is delicious and everybody is waiting
for it the whole year. So why don’t we do it more often?
Ingredients:
600g fresh or frozen cod
400g potatoes
5 cloves of garlic
100mL of milk
Freshly squeezed juice of a quarter lemon
Salt and pepper
Procedure:
Cook the fish and
potatoes separately until they get soft. Clean fish carefully we don’t want any
fish bones in your pâté.
After that, you have
two options, depending on the taste and texture that you like. If you want to
get a compact, creamy textures put all the ingredients into the blender and mix
well. In case you want to get richer, rougher texture, put all ingredients in a
mortar. Serve it with olives, pickles or pickled peppers.
